One Day (10AM - 3PM)

Maximum 4 Persons. £75.00 each.

Join Alby for a day of Cyanotype fun in his Studio at Dunfermline’s Fire Station Creative.

Learn the basics of this fascinating print process, creating your own Cyanotype artwork to take home and display with pride.

The format of the day will include a little history/theory followed by a practical demonstration and then hands on ‘making’

A range of plants and objects will be available on the day to use for your prints. I encourage you to bring along your preferred subject matter, flatter is better, as you will squash them under glass to make the prints. Acetate will be available to draw on to make your own stencils if you wish.

If you want to use a film negative, please send your images at least 1 week before the workshop. You should supply a range of photographs and Alby will make digital negatives for you. Some images work better than others so we need a few to choose from. Please email them to graingeralby@gmail.com with Cyanotype Workshop in the subject line. Please send JPEG files of a high quality (300dpi) for printing out around A5 size.

An apron will be provided (or you can bring your own if you prefer). Cyanotype solution can stain clothing, but is not toxic. Hypo allergenic disposable gloves are also available if required.

There will be a short session at the end of the day for discussion and final questions.

In addition to a lovely hand made print every workshop participant will leave with a kit containing:

Paper, Acetate, Foam Brush and some 2 part cyanotype solution for home experimentation.
